Many people may not be aware that it was during Harry S. Truman’s presidency that Israel became a Jewish State. On May 14, 1948, in Tel Aviv, Jewish Agency Chairman David Ben-Gurion proclaims the State of Israel, establishing the first Jewish state in 2,000 years. … At midnight, the State of Israel officially came into being upon termination of the British mandate in Palestine. – History.com

The first Jewish state in 2,000 years.
After world war II. Six million Jewish people without a homeland were ravaged, murdered, starved, enslaved, taken prisoners and then burned by the thousands by a ruthless demon named Adolf Hitler. American President Harry Truman recognized the right of the Jewish people to have a place of safety and refuge. He was willing even under great criticism to acknowledge Israel as a state of the Jewish people. President Truman came under attack for his decisions. It is said that, going into his room alone with the door shut he searched scripture and sought God on the matter, emerging with a purpose and a decision in favor of the nation of Israel, God’s treasured possession. Some believe Truman didn’t accomplish much in his presidency, but if this was the only reason God promoted him to leadership of this country, than I would say he was one of the most successful president to date, for what is more honorable or succesful than obedience to The Lord God Almighty.
It hasn’t been easy for Israel. according to the encyclopedia britannica In November 1947 the United Nations (UN) voted to partition the British mandate of Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state. Clashes broke out almost immediately between Jews and Arabs in Palestine. As British troops prepared to withdraw from Palestine, conflict continued to escalate, with both Jewish and Arab forces committing belligerences. since then there has been numerous wars, numerous attacks and battles, in fact the number one priority the state of israel did was to focus on and build a military power to defend itself. However, God has always defended Israel. Though the smallest of all the nations God watches over what belongs to him, and they miraculously always come out victorious. In her book Rabin, Yitzhak rabin’s widow writes how each war Israel engaged in, they were outnumbered and unlikely to win, yet somehow they won.
Today Israel continues to fight constant onslaughts of terror having to defend what is their tiny piece of land. Consider that Israel is maybe the size of the state of vermont. Of all the land mass in the world, and yet it is the target of the worlds attention and favorite victim of the nations surrounding them. In December 2017, President Trump recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and ordered the US embassy to move there. God is not finished with Israel, in fact i would say that it lies at the very heart of the earth, the very apple of God’s eye, and the very epicenter for the next phase of God’s plans.
Israel recently celebrated its 72 year of independence on april 28. I think we ought to read prophecy and scripture in light of the news headlines in Israel if we want to know whats happening in God’s kingdom. Israel becoming a state suddenly brought prophetic utterance into our present day reality. I encourage all who are grafted into the olive tree ought to pray for the peace of Jerusalem as scripture instructs, the return of messiah, and the salvation of all Israel.
to abraham God promised, i will bless those who bless you and i will curse those who curse you. and the Lord appeared to abraham and said to your seed i will give this land so he built an altar to there to the Lord who had appeared to him.
Genesis 12:3 & 7
Psalm 122:6-7 Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem
…For there the thrones of judgment stand, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper. May there be peace within your walls, and prosperity inside your fortresses.”…
